Your 1st Visit

Welcome to Butler United Methodist Church!!

We know that sometimes going to a new community and church can be a little intimidating.   To help you relax and enjoy yourself we want to let you know what to expect when you arrive for the first time.

Taking those first steps through the doors of Butler United Methodist Church you will be greeted by one of our Ushers.  Right now during covid they will just welcome you with a warm hello but hopefully soon they will be shaking your hand along with that hello.

From there they will show you around the Narthex area.   Our Narthex is the center of all the action.   Here you will find our bulletins, modified coffee hour table, and our parishioners and pastor talking with one another.

You are welcome to join in these discussions, meet our Pastor or just go straight into the Sanctuary and get ready for service.  But either way make sure you grab a bulletin.  Our bulletin is an integral part of our service.  It will walk you through what is happening but more importantly it has the weekly prayer we say during the service.

We hope you will join us!

More Questions – Hopefully we have some answers

When is worship service?

Worship is either in person or streamed online via our Facebook page. In person worship is on Sunday Mornings in English at 9:30am or in Spanish at 11:30am.

What is your style of worship?

The style of worship is a mix of traditional and contemporary music along with formal acts of worship and moments that are more spontaneous and informal.  The goal of worship is to help people to experience closeness to God and the support of fellow believers.

What should I wear?

You will find some parishioners dressed up and some in casual wear. Come in dress that is appropriate but comfortable to your own style. No matter the style, you will be welcomed with open arms.

Where should I sit?

There is no assigned seating here at Butler United Methodist Church. Sit where you feel the most comfortable.

Can I meet the Pastor?

Yes absolutely. Our Pastor is in the Narthex before and after our services. However if you want to have a more formal discussion you are welcome to call the office and set up a time to meet.

What if I have Children?

Children are welcome. Children are our future. And introducing them to how Jesus shared his love is one of the many things we do here at Butler United Methodist Church. Our service is designed to welcome everyone of all ages that includes young children.   In our bullet you will see a young disciples moment.   At this time the Pastor invite all the children (ages 2 and up) to the alter.  Here our Pastor sits with the children and talks with them about the sermon he will be preaching.  Then the children are dismissed to Sunday School giving our Parents time to reflect.  We understand if on your fist visit you may want to just watch – that is ok.
