{"id":1218,"date":"2018-03-18T17:15:29","date_gmt":"2018-03-18T17:15:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bumcnj.org\/wp\/?page_id=1218"},"modified":"2026-04-24T22:02:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T22:02:52","slug":"gleaners-thrift-shop","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/bumcnj.org\/?page_id=1218","title":{"rendered":"Gleaners Thrift Shop"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>New Life for Old Things!<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Gleaners is a ministry providing gently used clothing, accessories, jewelry, household items, and furniture to the community.\u00a0 We have a wide variety of items from every day to vintage, antique, and unique.\u00a0 The hunt for the find of the day can be exciting!<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Come out and visit us<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>GPS Address:<\/strong> 5 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ 07405<br \/>\nGleaners Entrance Sign is at the lower parking lot, to right of the building as you face the church.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shopping Hours:<\/strong> Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a010:00am to 1:00pm<br \/>\nMonday \u00a0\u00a0\u00a07:00pm to 9:00pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Donation Drop-off Hours:<\/strong> During shopping hours listed above or<br \/>\nMonday, Wednesday, and Friday\u00a0 \u00a0 10:00am to 12:00pm<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Donation FAQs<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5><em>Acceptable Gleaners Donation Items &amp; Clothing<\/em><\/h5>\n<p><strong>All items must be in good condition and good working order.\u00a0 We only accept items which are wearable, usable and saleable.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Clean Clothing, Shoes and Accessories<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>All clean men\u2019s, women\u2019s, children, and infant clothing including shirts, blouses, sweaters, t-shirts, pants, shorts, jeans, dresses, formal wear, raincoats, overcoats, outerwear, jackets, swimsuits, sleepwear<\/li>\n<li>All shoes, boots, and sandals<\/li>\n<li>All belts, ties, jewelry, scarfs, gloves, handbag, purses, sunglasses, umbrellas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Household Items<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Artificial flowers and trees, knick-knacks, antiques, towels, area rugs (6&#215;9 or smaller), decorative pillows, framed pictures and paintings, bedding, draperies, blankets, bedspreads, quilts, sheets, and pillowcases.<\/li>\n<li>Cookware, bakeware, dishes, utensils, flatware, silverware, pots and pans, tupperware, glasses, cups, serving plates and trays, canning jars.<\/li>\n<li>Small appliances (must be in working order) including &#8211; coffee makers, irons, ironing boards, small microwaves, blenders, electric griddles, fans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Small Furniture (as space is available)<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Furniture weighing less than 50 pounds such as &#8211; end tables, coffee tables, lamps, nightstands, wooden chairs, rocking chairs, stools, plant stands, small cabinets, small shelving units, small desks, mirrors<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Toys and Games<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Small Fisher Price and Little Tikes toys, board games, other games, and electronic gaming systems<\/p>\n<h5><em>Unacceptable Gleaners Donation Items<\/em><\/h5>\n<p><em><strong>Due to government regulations, weight limitations, or space limitations Gleaners is unable to accept certain items.<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electronics, computers, printers, or TVs<\/li>\n<li>Baby equipment, large toys, child car seats, cribs, and highchairs<\/li>\n<li>Large appliances (washer, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, stoves)<\/li>\n<li>Mattresses, box springs, bed pillows, and bed frames<\/li>\n<li>Exercise or sporting equipment<\/li>\n<li>Anything over the weight limits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Gleaners Donation Instructions<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><em><strong>Shop volunteers may reserve the right to not accept items they believe can not be sold or is not within the policies listed here.<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All donations must be in a box, bag, or bin (if possible)<\/li>\n<li>No bags larger than a tall kitchen bag<\/li>\n<li>Donations should not weigh more than 50 pounds (1 person can pick it up)<\/li>\n<li>Please limit donations to 3 bags, boxes, bins or items per delivery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>About our thrift shop<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Gleaners was established in 1984 as part of the Butler United Methodist Church\u2019s efforts to five back to and support the Butler community.<\/p>\n<p>Today a team of 25 volunteers shift through the many donations to restock shelves in order to bring the best to our customers.<\/p>\n<p>This wonderful group of volunteers assist our customers with the grace of god in their hearts and create a welcoming space for all who shop here.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Life for Old Things!
