Gratitude
“Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for his steadfast love endures forever” (Psalm 106:7)
“Good morning, Harold! How are you?” “Thankful!” he would reply, all cheery-eyed, no matter the circumstance. Harold was a long-time member of the church he loved, my previous appointment, and had served in every capacity since becoming a member. He not only taught me about the church building and the trap door on the roof, but Harold was also well-versed in Scripture, read many devotionals, kept detailed journals, and prayed gratitude daily. Harold is sitting at the Banquet Table today, and I can envision him offering grace every time Jesus breaks bread.
I am grateful, thankful, and blessed! Kevin and fur-baby Sally are, too!
I am grateful to Pastor Mike for his guidance, the sharing of stories, and hospitality, and for overseeing the remodeling of the parsonage and the church office with such an incredible team!
I am thankful to Pam, Dawn, the transition team members, Trustees, and SPRC members for a smooth transition and warm welcome.
I am grateful for all who have taken the time after worship to meet and greet us and for wearing name tags so that we can learn and remember your names. I look forward to meeting those who are away on vacation. Stay safe and have fun!
I am grateful for those who have entrusted me with your prayer requests, moments of grief, and personal stories, whether during the one-on-ones or in a brief conversation after worship.
I am grateful to Pat and Jack Inglis for checking in on us and allowing me to pray with and send off the Red Bird Team. Thank you, Team, for your passion for mission and ministry!
I am grateful to Rich Lovallo, the liturgists, the music, the praise and choir members, the tech team, the acolytes, the filmmakers, and all who make worship a spiritual experience to the One who is worthy of all praise!
I am grateful for the Young Disciples. You have taken me back to the time and place my ministry began in a small church on the west coast of Puerto Rico. You warm my heart!
I am grateful; we are thankful to have been richly blessed by God and by you, and I look forward to all that God has in store for us at Butler UMC! I know all will be good, “for He is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
In Christ,
Pastor Iraida
